the truth is, her father never visited them in korea. he promised he would, but he never showed up. apparently, he resigned from his position and quickly left the country after that. they haven't seen or heard from him since then. her mother was devastated, and since then, she's been flowing in and out of relationships with men, affecting yona's view on love and marriage. the girl's childhood was lonely at home. she had spent more time with music players and the television than with her workaholic mother. this, and her father's disappearance is one of the many things she struggles with. to put it simply, she has abandonment and daddy issues. yona has anxiety and often has trouble sleeping.witch.
yona's supernatural abilities surfaced around the same time she had started schooling. it turned out that she had inherited it from her late great-grandmother, who was a witch. however, the usage of magic was discouraged and it was never really spoken of, especially since her grandmother and mother had not inherited the gene. to this day, yona is unaware of the extent of her abilities and is unable to fully control them, especially during full moons.the novice witch had gotten into a few accidents due to her inability to control her powers. during elementary school, some bullies had received the wrath of her powers. rumours had spread of her family being cursed, having evil powers, and being fatherless, so she had moved schools often during her younger years. she spent her final year of high school in japan, graduating from there. through this experience she developed a habit of suppressing her emotions to keep her magic at bay.during full moons, her powers reach their full potential and they become harder to control. she undergoes a slight transformation, eyes turning silver-white and her body emits a moonlit aura that fellow supernatural beings can see and pick up on. due to her powers being affected by the moon phases, yona was absent from school and work during full moons and had to stay isolated for the safety of herself and others. she still does this, often using her period or being sick as an excuse.moonlight dancer.
unbeknownst to her family, yona had discovered that the long-time janitor at amorepacific hq, a quiet, elderly man, had a secret side to him - he is actually the senior drag mother at homo hill, itaewon. after being inspired by his performance, and seeking a small escape from her daily life, she began performing there under a different name - autumn. she is not a drag queen and does not accept money, but rather performs covers of songs she enjoys. due to her good relationship with her drag mother and the crew, she is welcomed despite being the only woman.
